How Soon Can My Selected Tree Be Planted?2023-10-30T14:19:13+00:00

It depends on the time of year you are planting a tree. Our lead times generally start from 2 to 3 weeks and in peek season can go to 4 to 6 weeks. However, this is hard to determine until you come in to purchase a tree.

How Is My Tree Installed?2023-10-30T14:20:50+00:00

You can have confidence that your selected tree will be installed correctly by one of our professionally trained crews. Each crew is led by a supervisor that has over 20 years experience installing trees. The crew will not only take the utmost care of your tree install, but of your yard, as well. A few days prior to installation you will receive a call from our dispatcher to confirm our arrival. It is not necessary for you to be present at the job site; your tree is planted in the same location where you place the colored flags representing your tree purchase.

How Do I Care For My Newly Planted Tree?2023-10-27T22:42:58+00:00

Once you purchase your tree, you will receive written instructions that explain the seasonal needs of your tree. Find out more about basic tree water and tree maintenance here.

Who is responsible for the Public Utility Marking (811) on my property?2023-10-10T15:14:34+00:00

Fannin Tree Farm will contact 811 to mark public lines.

Who is resposible for the private line markings on my property?2023-10-30T14:26:05+00:00

The customer is responsible for marking private lines.

Digging holes with shovels or heavy equipment to plant trees, using metal stakes to secure them or using a stump grinder or heavy equipment to remove existing trees involves the risk of damaging utilities in your yard. Fannin Tree Farm will contact 811 to mark public lines. The Customer is responsible for marking private lines. Fannin Tree Farm is not responsible for repairing any private lines not marked by the customer prior to install. You can locate your private lines yourself or find private line locators on-line if you want to hire one. Private lines are defined as the line from behind the service meter (gas, electric) to the house. Roots can grow into public and private lines underground, and a line can get entangled into the root ball. Fannin is not responsible for entangled line repairs if broken when removing a tree or root ball.

Examples of private lines include but are not limited to:

• Natural gas lines running to fire pits, BBQ grills, pool
• Heaters, spas, detached garage, etc.
• Landscape lighting, invisible pet fencing
• Water lines for water features, underground sprinklers
• Electric line running to out buildings, garages, gazebos
• Sheds, RV hook-ups, etc.

• Electric lines for parking lot lights
• Electric line for commercial signage
• Private sewer and water including septic laterals
• Water service
• Electric lines to center pivots
• Farm tap service lines
• Propane lines from tank to structure

What to expect on your first visit?2023-10-30T14:28:01+00:00

At Fannin Tree Farm, we pride ourselves on offering the area’s largest selection of trees native to North Texas. While we are more than happy to accept tree orders over the phone, a majority of our customers prefer to shop for their trees in person, which is honestly the best way to do it.

Once you step onto our lot, you can expect to be greeted by a knowledgeable Fannin representative who will be happy to give you a tour of our 20-acre sales lot in one of our get-around carts. With Fannin, you get the opportunity to hand-select your trees, which is a luxury other tree farms typically do not offer.

Don’t know what tree or group of trees is right for you? No problem. Your Fannin representative and tour guide will be happy to assist you during the selection process to help you find the perfect trees for your landscape.

We also offer free, in-depth consultations that are designed to help us better understand your specific landscape desires. We recommend you bring pictures of the area where you are thinking about installing trees. This will give our experts a good understanding of your location, your landscape and the space you have available for a new tree.

Once you have chosen the perfect trees for your property, we will hard-tag your trees with a corresponding warranty number to ensure the trees installed at your home are the ones you personally selected. We will then ask you to fill out some paperwork and process payment. Our dispatch operator will be in touch to schedule the installation date, and your sales representative will discuss the process of transferring your trees from our lot to your yard.
