Texas Arbor Day 2023 – November 3rd-5th

Join our friends at the Texas A&M Forest Service to discuss Texas Arbor Day and learn about native trees and how to care for them!

Texas A&M Forest Service conserves and protects the resources and lands of the Lone Star State. Conserving Texas’ trees and forests, the state agency helps property owners maintain the land and natural resources to ensure forestlands remain productive and healthy not only for the environment but for generations of Texans to come. Check out all of the great resources they offer at www.tfsweb.tamu.edu.

Texas Arbor Day is an annual state legislated holiday led by Texas A&M Forest Service on the first Friday of November – this year November 3, 2023. This year’s theme “It Takes All Kinds” emphasizes the value of diversity – in tree species, eco regions, and people – by engaging all ages and walks of life, across the state.

Why Plant in the Fall

When it comes to trees, the season of spring is the time for new growth while the fall season is the ideal time for planting. Why you ask? The soil conditions from autumn rain and cooler temperatures provide the perfect planting environment. This allows the trees’ root systems to acclimate to their new surroundings as they head into dormancy and before they wake up for spring growth.

So, if you’ve been thinking about getting a new tree for your residential or commercial property, take advantage of this time to select the perfect one! View our tree inventory here. As always, we are happy to help you during the selection process in any way we can! Feel free to give us a call or contact us here anytime.
