Do You Have A Dangerous Tree?

DangerousTrees are beautiful specimens that can be enjoyed for many years after planting. They provide shade, clear the air of pollutants, improve home energy efficiency and even increase property value. Be that as it may, trees can sometimes pose a safety hazard as they age, become unstable or contract disease. With this in mind, some warning signs of a dangerous tree include:

  • Leaning – A little lean is perfectly fine for a tree, but if it’s more than a 15-degree lean, the tree poses a serious falling risk.
  • Cracked soil – Cracks in the soil can denote root complications.
  • Multiple trunks – Trees with multiple trunks or splits in one truck tend to be very unstable and are at risk of falling.
  • Fungal growth – Fungi (including mushrooms) growing on or in close proximity to a tree denote signs of tree rot or decay.
If your trees show any of these signs, it might be a good idea to have them professionally inspected or even replaced. Don’t hesitate to contact the professionals at Fannin Tree Farm for assistance!
